Numerous oral hygiene products are currently available on the market, and dental care providers have to select suitable products for the individual patient. Successful oral hygiene should rely on the current best available evidence; hence, oral care providers should be up to date with the advantages and disadvantages of the available oral hygiene products in order to provide their patients with proper information during oral hygiene instruction sessions.
